A Considered Approach
to Household Finance
For adults at 40 and beyond who would like to understand their finances more clearly — and act with a little more confidence.
Reserve a PlaceOur Programmes
Three carefully structured programmes, each designed to be revisited rather than rushed through.
The Reading on Risk and Time Horizon
A four-session programme on the two most often used and least often understood words in personal finance. Drawing on historical data from Thai and regional markets, the facilitator shows how the meaning of risk depends on the length of one's time horizon.
- Four structured sessions with a facilitator
- Regional and Thai market context throughout
- Personal one-page time horizon note to keep
The Year in Review: A Household Closing
A one-day workshop each December for those who would like to close their financial year with care. The facilitator walks through an Annual Review template developed for the Thai household, covering contributions, allowances, and the reflective questions that accompany year-end.
- Full-day workshop in December
- Annual Review template adapted for Thailand
- Draft household closing review to take away
Long Reading: A Household Library of Personal Finance
A four-month programme of monthly meetings. Each month introduces one book — classic or contemporary, all in English — with a printed companion guide adapted to the Thai household. The facilitator hosts a calm discussion, and participants keep the books and guides.
- Monthly meetings over four months
- Printed companion guides for each book
- Books and guides kept by each participant
What Participants Notice
A few observations from those who have spent time with us.
Grounded in History
The programmes draw on long-running data from Thai and regional markets, giving participants a sense of proportion that short-term news rarely provides.
Paced for Reflection
Sessions are spread over time so that ideas settle. There is room to return to a topic at the next meeting with questions that only form after a few days of thinking.
Built for Thai Households
Content is adapted for the financial circumstances, family structures, and cultural considerations relevant to households in Thailand — not borrowed wholesale from elsewhere.
Small Groups Only
Each programme runs with a small cohort so that discussion is possible and the facilitator can attend to what each participant actually needs to understand.
Materials to Keep
Written guides, review templates, and books go home with participants. The intention is that they will be consulted again over the years, not set aside after the final session.
No Product to Sell
Chai Advisors does not offer investment products, manage funds, or receive commissions. The only interest here is that participants leave better informed than they arrived.
Is There a Programme That Fits Your Situation?
We are happy to discuss which programme might suit where you are and what you would like to understand better. There is no obligation in reaching out.
Common Questions
Who are these programmes for?
The programmes are designed for adults at or approaching 40, who would like to develop a more considered understanding of personal finance. No prior financial background is assumed. Participants typically come because they want clarity, not because they feel they have made serious mistakes.
Are the sessions held in person?
Yes. Sessions are held in person in Udon Thani. The in-person format is part of how the programmes work — discussion requires a shared room and unhurried time together.
What is the language of instruction?
All sessions are conducted in English. Reading materials — books in the Long Reading programme and companion guides — are also in English. Participants with a working reading level of English will be comfortable throughout.
How do I enrol in a programme?
Use the enquiry form on this page or call the number above. We will confirm whether there is a place available in the next intake, share the schedule, and answer any questions before you commit.
Is the programme fee refundable if I cannot attend?
We ask that participants consider their availability before enrolling, as places are limited. Our cancellation and refund terms are set out in the enrolment agreement, and we will discuss them with you before any payment is made.
Do you offer investment advice or manage money?
No. Chai Advisors is an educational provider only. We do not manage funds, give regulated investment advice, or receive any commission. If you are looking for portfolio management or regulated financial planning, we can suggest where to look, but that is not what we do.
Can a couple attend together?
Yes, and many participants find it more useful to attend with their spouse or partner. Each person registers separately, and the full programme fee applies per participant. Please mention this when you enquire.
